Kaksi linnaa ja puutarha
Tässä on tullut taas vierailtua Lontoossa sekä muutamassa linnassa. Halusin vain nopeasti kirjoittaa niistä tänne jotain, sillä pidin kaikista näistä paikoista kovasti, haha. Aloitetaan!

I've traveled to London (again). I have visited a couple of castles recently as well. Just wanted to write a little something about them here. I really enjoyed exploring the following places, haha. Let's start, shall we?!

Kyoto Garden sijaitsee Holland Park nimisessä puistossa Lontoossa. Puisto on lähellä Hyde Parkia eli melko keskustassa. Käväisin siellä viime viikonloppuna erään toisen suomalaisen au pairin kanssa. Sitä ennen me kuitenkin vierailtiin nopeasti Victoria ja Albert Museossa. Mulle se rakennus oli paljon mielenkiintoisempi kuin ne itse näyttelyt, haha. Matkalla puistoon nähtiin myös paljon todella syksyisiä katuja!

Kyoto Garden is located in Holland Park in London. The park is near Hyde Park so it's quite in the central London. I visited the place last weekend with an another Finnish au pair girl. Before going to the park we visited Victoria and Albert Museum on Cromwell Road, London. To be honest, the building was more interesting than the actual exhibitions inside, haha. On our way to the park we saw a lot of streets that just screamed Autumn for us!
Sissinghurst Castle ei enää ollut nimensä mukaan linna. Jäljellä oli vain kaksoistorni ja hieman linnan muuria. Tornin huipulle pääsi kuitenkin portaita pitkin katselemaan näköaloja. Oli kaunista!

Sissinghurst Castle wasn't really a castle anymore. There were just the tower and a little bit of the wall left. However, you were able to climb up the stairs and look at the views from the top of the Elizabethan tower. The views were amazing indeed!
Koska linnaa ei ollut enää paljon jäljellä, puutarha oli isommassa roolissa. Alueella oli myös iso kasvimaa, jossa kasvatettiin vaikka mitä. Kaiken kaikkiaan Sissinghurst Castle ei ollut niin hieno kuin olin ajatellut... Emme viipyneet alueella tämän vuoksi kauan.

The garden played the bigger role at Sissinghurst Castle. It was pretty though! There was a vegetable garden as well. We took a little walk there too. All in all, the place wasn't as beautiful as I had imagined... That's why we didn't spend that much time there after all.
Scotney Castle oli puolestaan ihan kunnon linna. Alueella oli 'uusi' sekä vanha linna (kuvat 1&2). Vanhempi rakennus oli hieman raunioitunut ja sitä ympäröi vallihauta sekä suuri maisemapuutaha. Emme käyneet vanhan linnan sisällä, mutta uudessa kyllä. Oli hassua ajatella, että 'uudessa' linnassa asuttiin vielä noin kymmenen vuotta sitten!

Scotney Castle was a decent castle comparing to Sissinghurst Castle, haha. There was the 'new' castle and the old castle (pictures 1&2). The older one was a little bit ruined and surrounded by a moat & a big garden. It was hard for me to believe that someone had still lived in the 'new' castle just ten years ago!

Kyoto Garden on japanilainen pikkuinen puutarha keskellä Holland Parkia. Siellä oli pikkuinen vesiputous, muutama japanilainen patsas ja lampi, jossa oli melko isoja kaloja. Puutarha oli nätti, mutta ei sitä kauan jaksanut ihastella, haha. Katseltiin itse puistoa enemmän ja bongattiin hääpari ottamassa kuvia juhlapuvut päällä.

Kyoto Garden is a tiny Japanese garden in the middle of Holland Park. There was a little waterfall, a couple of Japanese statues and a pond with fish. The garden was pretty but we got bored quite fast, haha. Later we went to look at the main park as well and spotted a young couple taking their wedding pictures. It was cute!
